Aiken Middle School Clubs and Organizations

Aiken Middle School offers a number of clubs and organizations which meet at various times for students with interests outside the classroom.  Some of the opportunities are come one, come all, and some require try outs or applications or even elections.  Contact the sponsor teacher for more information.

Clubs and Organizations:

The Academic Team

The Academic Team matches our students with students from other area middle schools testing their intellectual acumen against each other.  Our team has done an excellent job in the past and will continue to represent Aiken Middle well this year under the guidance of Mrs. Cynthia Hall.

The Beta Club

The Aiken Middle School Beta Club is an honor society dedicated to scholarship, leadership, and service to our school and community.  We typically collect for Toys for Tots and canned goods drives.  We volunteer at ACTS and a soup kitchen.  We are affiliated with the National Beta Club Society and are under the guidance of Mrs. Michelle Byrd and Mrs. Melissa Kidd.

The Christian Club

Following district and state guidelines separating church and state, our bible study group is student led and organized.  Meeting every two weeks after school, students meet to share their faith, grow stronger in their commitment and learn more about the Bible. See Miss Lucy Fabrick for more information.

The Literary Magazine Staff

Our literary magazine is called “Reflections.”  It contains student writings such as poetry, essays and prose as well as art work all created by our talented students, and sometimes, our talented adults.  The students on staff edit the writings which are submitted and then format them with the artwork.  The stellar end product is then sold to make enough money to print the next year’s edition.  Miss Lucy Fabrick is the one to see to join the staff.

The Student Council

Our student council is an extracurricular activity which encourages students to engage in student government and learning about democracy and leadership.  Participation is by student election. See Mr. Rich for more information.

The Yearbook Staff

Our yearbook staff takes photos for the annual, learns about layout and editing procedures and works with our media specialist, Mrs. Patsy Davis.
